Teacher Bio's
Crystal Kesler
Crystal is the director of Gateway Preschool and Child Care. Her passion for children led her to pastor children 6 weeks to 12 years old at Gateway Church. During her time pasturing children, Crystal created, planned and executed various events including Harvest Parties and Kids Blasts.
After completing her Bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in elementary education, her passion turned to younger children. Returning to school once more, she took early childhood education courses and received her director’s letter. Soon after she released her position of seven years as the children’s pastor and accepted the position of director at Gateway Preschool and Child Care.
Jamie Snyder
Jamie is the assistant director and lead teacher at Gateway Preschool and Child Care. She has always had a vested interest in teaching children about Jesus, so she began teaching at Gateway Church. Working with children 6 weeks to 12 years old, her broad experience has helped her to become a valuable asset to any organization. Jamie has helped plan and volunteer children’s events during most major holidays, including 4th of July children’s events, Harvest Party, and discipleship programs.
Graduating in 2008, Jamie completed her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. She quickly went from a group leader teacher to an assistant director when she accepted the position with us in 2008. Jamie has proven that her educational and experiential background has helped her become the phenomenal teacher and assistant director she is today.
Katie Turner
Katie is our newest addition to Gateway Preschool and Child Care! She has a plethora of knowledge and experience. Her knowledge has been gathered both in independent study, formal study and experience. She graduated in 2008 when she received her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Pikes Peak Community College. Not only is she group lead qualified and infant/toddler supervisor qualified, but she is our third employee to hold her director’s certificate from the state of Colorado.
Katie has experience working with children 6 weeks old- 5 years old. When asked what her teaching style is, she said, “My teaching is planned and purposeful. My materials and environment are considered to provide the best learning experience. When making a lesson plan, I consider each child’s individual needs as well as the needs of the entire group.”
